Our family has embarked on virtual travels to various countries and regions. To explore these countries and their cultures, we have followed along with the festivals, cooked and eaten traditional foods, learned of traditional handicrafts with hands on exploration, along with many activities to immerse ourselves. Chronicled here are some of these activities.

Our Week in a Nutshell

We enjoyed the rest of G-pa's stay this week and spent some time with cameras in hand at the beach. We live less than 10 minutes away from this beautiful beach, yet we rarely go, despite loving it when we are there. Luckily, my father suggested we go.

Pea will be turning 15 soon, and this birthday means a lot to her. So we decided to start celebrating early. My sister and I took Pea away for the weekend, and we had a great time. We spent an afternoon watching the world team championships of the highland games, we hiked, enjoyed a few picnics with great views, and checked out a lounge/diner/hotel that takes place in old train cabooses (we will definitely be going back there!).

  1. Happy birthday Pea! I LOVE the idea of going to eat in a train carriage. It's a bit reminiscent of Poirot and the Orient Express!
I want to know which one is you in the pictures??
We used to live near the coast in Northern Ireland and went every day. I miss it so much...

  2. We can't wait to plan an outing, maybe even with friends to spend a night and dine (and dance?)in the train carriage - it exceeding all my expectations. We didn't want to leave!
I'm the one sitting with Pea in the train lounge :)

Thanks for stopping by to visit. Please feel free to leave a comment, it's lovely to hear from you!
