Our family has embarked on virtual travels to various countries and regions. To explore these countries and their cultures, we have followed along with the festivals, cooked and eaten traditional foods, learned of traditional handicrafts with hands on exploration, along with many activities to immerse ourselves. Chronicled here are some of these activities.

Our Week in a Nutshell

Making salt dough starfish for Elle's birthday party

It's been a quiet week, with Elle spending time with friends and her maternal grand parents, and Pea spending time with her books, and her paternal grandparents.
I've been catching up on work and yardwork, and the girls did start the preparations for Elle's upcoming beach party (we are praying for sun!) Last night, with hubby and Elle away, Pea and I enjoyed watching the Perseid meteor shower.

I have been (naively) surprised at how little time we have had to explore China over the summer - between work, entertaining, and enjoying summer weather, we haven't had the chance to do any real projects (my list is oh so long). Luckily, the evenings still occasionally offer time for reading legends and folktales, and sharing tidbits and chengyus. Hopefully, we will soon have time for more projects.
