Our Weekend in a Nutshell

Saturday we had Elle's 12th birthday party. Her birthday is in August, but many of her friends couldn't make it so we decided to wait until now. Luckily, the warm weather held up.

Elle's theme was messy outdoor art party - though little art was created in the end, it very much lived up to being messy! We were quite lucky to be able to use Indian Holi powder as the grand finale because my mother picked some up on her last trip earlier in the summer.

I don't know that I would recommend this kind of party :) but the girls sure had fun, and we were beat by the end of it.

    1. It was a hit with the kids, and we did get some dubious looks from the parents :) I did have contractor size garbage bags to cover where they sat in the car - hopefully that worked out well!

  3. Oh my goodness! I want one!! That has to be the coolest party EVER! Look at the mess, the creativity, the beauty of all the girls smothered in paint but looking very pleased with themselves. I'm 40 next week, do you think if I ask Gary very, very nicely he might just throw me a messy outdoor party?

    1. Oh you should definitely have a party like this - I'm certain you could pull the "Only 40 once & it's a pretty big deal" card. Would love to see you laughing and covered in paint!

    1. You're right, the kids would absolutely recommend it. Hubby would not. I think he wishes we could turn back time - at least he wished it during most of the party...
