Our family has embarked on virtual travels to various countries and regions. To explore these countries and their cultures, we have followed along with the festivals, cooked and eaten traditional foods, learned of traditional handicrafts with hands on exploration, along with many activities to immerse ourselves. Chronicled here are some of these activities.

Here's my favorite from last time:

I'm excited to feature The Incredible Art of Romare Bearden for Kids from The Art Curator for Kids for Multicultural Kid Blogs for three reasons. First of all, it was written by Cindy at The Art Curator for Kids, an amazing blog for teaching kids about art appreciation and art history. She opens your eyes to looking at art, and also features quite a bit of multicultural art (including an entire 30 days of art from around the world). Secondly, after reading this post I immediately looked for books featuring Romare Bearden's artwork, and based on the post's recommendation got the book "The Block" - a book the girls and I really enjoyed for its artwork and poetry. The post includes quite a selection of resources to learn more about this interesting artist and his collages. Thirdly, this post was part of Multicultural Kid Blogs series for Black History Month with so many great resources to be used and enjoyed all year long.

Thank you for linking-up, and we can't wait to see what you've been up to!

  1. I'll dig something up, or try to. I'm not so good at remembering to do these things.
